The Big Stay
The “Great Resignation” has given way to the “Big Stay” according to a report by the Chartered Institute of Personnel & Development (CIPD). The report tells us that more workers are staying put in their current jobs and more employers are holding fire on recruitment.
The salient points coming out of the report:
· More than half of employers are looking to maintain their current staffing levels
· Only 30% of employers expect staffing levels to increase in the next 3 months
· The most common response by employers with hard to fill vacancies is to upskill their current workforce
· Workers are tending to opt for job stability - the “Big Stay”
