The AAT can also provide a gateway into a chartered qualification, should you wish to take your accounting studies further.  The AAT qualification provides exemptions from some of the modules on the way to qualification with one of the chartered bodies – ICAEW, ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA and ICAS.

AAT jobs exist within a number of employment sectors – accounting practice, financial services, manufacturing and various areas of commerce.  Within practice for example, you may want to develop your accounting and audit experience in a client facing position. Financial services accounting roles can provide the opportunity to specialise in niche sectors such as investments. Commercial accounting opportunities may provide exposure to financial reporting or analysis within a finance team.
