Financial Services Recruitment Remains Strong Despite Brexit Turmoil
‘Bright Future’ Outside of the EU According to Report
The number of candidates securing permanent roles in the Financial Services sector in April 2018 increased by 19% year-on-year, according to a new survey report from the Association of Professional Staffing Companies (ApsCo). The survey found that vacancies for permanent finance professionals grew 10% over the same period, whilst demand for contractors rose 20%, indicating ongoing strength across the market.
Despite the ongoing fears in the sector regarding Brexit, a recent report from the Institute of Economic Affairs found the UK financial services sector to have a ‘bright future’ outside of the EU if it capitalises on its ‘natural advantages’.
Ann Swain, Chief Executive of APSCo, commented: “Despite last week’s suggestion from the Bank of England that the UK economy is ‘past its peak’, the market for highly skilled talent continues to escalate.”
